A letter from Ron -

Hello! And thank you for your interest in S.T.O.P. Alarm! As former Mayor of the great city of Porterville, you might have heard of my name. However, I feel that relationships are important to my business, and it is important to know who you, the customer is dealing with. So I wanted to take a minute to give you a little more history about me and the company:

I proudly served in the U.S. Navy from Aug. 1963 to Aug. 1966 as an aviation electrician, and served on 3 tours during Vietnam.
In January 1964, I entered the United States Navy electronics school in Jacksonville, FL.  I spent 9 months in school. Then, I was sent to N.A.S. Miramar in San Diego (the original TOP GUN squadron!) for more electronics training – working on the F4B Phantom aircraft.
In November 1964, I was attached to Fighter Squadron 96 aboard the USS Ranger, located in the South China Sea.  After my first tour, I returned for another 11 months aboard the same ship. I found myself working 12 hour days, 7 days a week on the flight deck as the planes were sent to and (hopefully) returned from Vietnam.  May of 1965, I flew to Norfolk, VA and went aboard the USS Enterprise, the first nuclear ship in combat. From there we returned to the Gulf of Tonkin, Yankee Station, South China Sea.
May of 1966, I flew from the ship to Chuli and then to De Nang for eight weeks to work on aircraft that had been damaged and could not return to our ship.  I managed to pick up a couple of medals there, and a lot of life long memories.
Upon returning home from military service, I first settled in the San Joaquin Valley and I went to work for an alarm company in Fresno.  While working on my new trade, I attended Fresno City College. My goal was to enhance my knowledge of my current career path so I enrolled electronics and business classes, majoring in business administration. Soon after graduating college, I moved to my beloved Porterville where I was able to settle down and went to work as a branch manager of an alarm company.

In 1978 my wife, Teri and I founded S.T.O.P. Alarm, Inc. The company began with one employee. Due to our hard work and dedication to the passion we have for our company and the city (and surrounding cities) of Porterville, S.T.O.P. Alarm, Inc. has grown to a staff of 14 employees with over 3,500 accounts.

My wife and I have always been very active in our community. We have a vested interest in our community and the city of Porterville. After spending two years active reserve for the Navy and being honorably discharged, my sense of service continues. Below are some of my proudest accomplishments while serving the people and city of Porterville:
